About Us & Team

Who are you?

Our organization is led by individuals who have seen the struggles of hidden workers firsthand. We come from different backgrounds but are united in our efforts to provide opportunities for everyone.

Amir Abbasi

Amir, a dedicated and passionate individual, is a founding member of HiddenWorkers.org. With a profound personal journey that spans continents, Amir brings a unique perspective to the organization’s mission.

Born in the foothills of Himalayas in Northern Pakistan, Amir grew up in Dubai and immigrated to the United States in pursuit of the American dream. His journey began with a relentless pursuit of knowledge and opportunity. After arriving in the U.S., Amir enrolled in college, where he tirelessly worked to bridge the gap between his aspirations and reality.

While pursuing his education, Amir faced the daily challenges and uncertainties that many immigrants encounter. The initial cultural adjustments, financial hardships, and the pursuit of higher education in a foreign land were not without their hurdles. However, Amir persevered, driven by the belief that the United States held the promise of a better life, not only for him but for countless others who shared the immigrant experience.

Upon completing his education, Amir entered the field of Information Technology (IT) and began building a career that would not only support his own aspirations but also enable him to give back to the community. Through his work in IT, Amir recognized the potential to make a profound impact on the lives of fellow immigrants, providing them with opportunities to achieve their own American dreams.

Drawing from firsthand experience, Amir is now dedicated to the mission of HiddenWorkers.org. He is committed to ensuring that every individual, regardless of their background or origin, has access to the resources and support needed to build a livelihood and achieve the American dream. Amir’s inspiring journey from immigrant to accomplished professional exemplifies the organization’s core values and serves as a beacon of hope for those striving for success in a new land.

With Amir as a founding member, HiddenWorkers.org continues its tireless pursuit of empowering immigrants to overcome challenges, fulfill their potential, and write their own success stories in the land of opportunity.

Haseeb Saeed

With a technological background and a keen eye for usability, Haseeb is our technical lead. He focuses on making sure that all technology is first and foremost easy to use for all users, particularly those who come from non-traditional backgrounds.

Ali Chishti

Ali comes from a business/strategic background. As a former executive at the nation’s largest online wholesale printer, 4over, he saw firsthand how inclusive hiring practices can greatly benefit both individuals and the companies they work for. 4over was founded by refugees with very little formal education, but a brilliant capacity for business. The company made an effort to hire non-traditional candidates, partially out of necessity. The Los Angeles area is full of immigrants who have limited English skills and often little formal education. 4over was able to recruit hundreds of individuals in the Los Angeles area, from Hispanic and Armenian backgrounds to staff its plants, customer service headquarters and office positions. Within a few years, many of those same individuals were thriving in management roles that they would never have been able to achieve elsewhere. This left a lasting impact on Ali and cemented his belief that in most cases, people just need a chance to prove themselves.
